The Self-Improving Factory Starts With Maneva
July 14, 2026 · 4 min read · By the Maneva Team · Company, Mission
Imagine if your line stopped every 90 seconds.
That was the situation at a leading US wood manufacturer. Every minute and a half, the line would halt. Multiply that disruption across the shifts and across the weeks, and you can imagine the magnitude of the waste it creates.
Some variation of this story plays out in every factory, in every industry across the world.
For decades, manufacturers have used video to solve problems. It is the richest signal on the factory floor, but until now it has only ever been useful in hindsight, to review after a defect ships or a stoppage costs an hour.
Now imagine that video connected to a brain that can take immediate action.
That's what Maneva has built with our Video-to-Action AI: agents that see a production line, understand what is happening on it, and respond in real time.
We know it works because we helped that wood manufacturer. After deploying Maneva, the interval between stoppages stretched from every 90 seconds to every 25 minutes: a 16x improvement in MTBF. It's running in production today, and it's just the beginning of the changes for that plant and for manufacturing more broadly.
One Platform, Built to See, Understand, and Act
Video-to-Action AI is the foundation of everything Maneva builds. A single Maneva agent sees, acts, remembers, learns, and adapts, doing in one system what used to take five separate tools spread across a plant floor. Instead of a patchwork of cameras, spreadsheets, and after-the-fact reports, a Maneva agent sits directly on the line, watching production as it happens and responding the moment something needs attention.
Most computer vision stops at labeling what is in a frame. Maneva goes further, using deductive reasoning to trace an event back to the exact step in the process that caused it, and every agent keeps learning the moment it is deployed, getting sharper the longer it runs. Over time, that becomes factory memory: every shift, every stoppage, and every defect an agent has seen stays part of the system, so every decision Maneva makes today draws on everything the floor has already taught it.
VITA and ALIS: The Agents on the Floor Today
VITA is Maneva's agent for quality inspections and downtime prevention. Running autonomously at full line speed, it catches defects, packaging failures, and process drift the moment they happen, and triggers a response before a bad unit reaches the next stage of production. Across deployments, VITA customers have seen an 8% increase in production volume, with models reaching up to 99.9% accuracy.
ALIS is Maneva's agent for safety and productivity. It watches the entire facility in real time, flags PPE non-compliance and unsafe behavior, and fires a local alert the instant something happens, preventing incidents rather than logging them after the fact. Across deployments, ALIS has delivered roughly a 50% improvement in safety performance and up to a 10% increase in output.

What This Looks Like as Customers Grow
Customers are amazed, and constantly surprised, by what Maneva uncovers on their lines. Because of what Maneva finds, they are already changing their layouts and improving their systems. They quickly deploy Maneva across more and more lines, each agent taking on a task built specifically for that line's unique operation.
From One Agent to the Orchestration Platform
That rapid expansion compounds fast. Every new agent connects to the ones already running, and together they build what we call the Orchestration Platform: the harness that turns a fleet of agents into one factory that keeps getting better on its own. A plant that starts with a single agent soon adds a second, then a third and a fourth, each solving an immediate need on its own line. As those agents connect, they naturally evolve into one coordinated system across the whole floor, every agent and every data point feeding the next. Later this week, we will share much more about the Orchestration Platform.

Built by People Who Know the Floor
Maneva was co-founded by Rae Jeong and Kelvin Chan, whose backgrounds are as grounded in the physical world as in AI research. Rae started his career as a welder in Alberta before leading robotics and deep reinforcement learning research at Google DeepMind. Kelvin brings mechatronics engineering from the University of Waterloo and years developing perception technology at Magna International. Together, firsthand knowledge of the factory floor and world-class AI research shape every product decision Maneva makes.
Filling the Hardest Roles on the Floor
Every manufacturer knows which roles are hardest to staff and hardest to keep filled. Maneva automates that work, watching every line, around the clock, at full speed, closing those gaps while you build out the rest of your smart factory.
The result: stronger retention in the roles that used to be hardest to fill, and better performance from the operators in them.
The self-improving factory, powered by AI, is the future of manufacturing, and it starts with Maneva.
Built for Every Industry
Maneva is built for manufacturers across every sector. Choose yours: Food & Beverages, Confectionery, Meat Processing, Wood, Steel, Distribution, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic, Glass, Automotive, and Electronics.
